Kathy was born on May 9, 1957 in Eastland, Texas to Hilton and Janie Brewer Parsons. She was a life-long resident of the Westbrook Community having graduated high school there in 1975 then serving in many different teaching roles in the school district for over 15 years. Kathy was a woman who was devoted to her family, she was a world class mother and grandmother, always making sure to attend as many of her children and grandchildren’s sporting events and functions as she possibly could (she once even tried to postpone a heart-attack in order to watch one of her children’s football games). Her love for children didn’t stop at her own family as many of the kids she watched at the daycare were considered extra grand-babies and treated as her own. She was the type of woman that would give anybody what they needed and would never want anything back in return. Her warm smile and inviting hugs will be cherished fondly by all that knew her.
Kathy is survived by her sons Thadd Rich and wife Ashley of Westbrook and Colton Rich and wife Ashlyn of Westbrook, by her daughters Amanda Rich of North Richland Hills and Brynn McJimsey and husband Chase of Westbrook, and by her grandchildren Raenee Rich, River Rich, Pepper Rich, Nathan Ratliff, Paige McJimsey, Taegyn Schwartz, and Slayden Rich. Also surviving are her brothers Tim Parsons and wife Jane of Abilene and T.J. Parsons and wife Tina of Westbrook, niece Taylor Parsons and a sister Pam Rich and husband Glen of Coahoma.
A private family burial will be scheduled in the Westbrook Cemetery, all other services will be pending at this time.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Kiker Seale Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to the American Heart Association.
