She was born in Slaton, Texas on October 12, 1950 to Albert and Lonelle Osburn Holder.
After graduating high-school Linda completed the LVN course at WTC in Snyder and went to work as a nurse in the nursing homes and at the prison. On September 15, 1973 she married the love of her life Jerry Goen in Clovis, Texas who preceded her in death on June 26, 2015. She was a wonderful sister, a great wife and mother but an even better grandmother. Later in life her grandchildren were her whole world and she enjoyed teaching them the finer things in life. She taught them to do all sorts of arts and crafts, ranging from embroidery to painting. When the holidays came around she would have her granddaughters over and they would cook up a storm, often cooking the holiday meals, baking cookies, or decorating the eggs when it came time for Easter. In her spare time she enjoyed going for a ride in the car, some of the best memories made were on those rode trips with destinations unknown until they arrived. Together with family she shared so many memories to last a life time and improved the lives of all that got to know her.
Linda is survived by her sons Lance Goen and John Goen of Colorado City, by her daughter Laura Goen of Post, by grandchildren Addie Quintana of Post, Shania Washburn and husband Nathan of Brownwood, and Aurora Goen of Post, a brother Steve Holder and wife Diane of Sachse, and a sister Karen Walker and husband James of Snyder. She is also survived by her grand-furbabies Blade and Bandit, and by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Lonelle Holder, by her husband Jerry Goen, and by an infant son Jerry Goen Jr.
A graveside urn burial for Linda will be held on Friday, April 5th at 2pm in the Terrace Cemetery in Post with James Jones officiating. Following the burial service the family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for her in the community room at the Hutchinson School Apartments in Colorado City.
