Lupe Guerrero, 72 of Colorado City went to be with his Lord and Savior after a lengthy illness. He passed away on June 19, 2021 in the University Medical Center of Lubbock with his loving family by his side.
He was born on February 4, 1949 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Theodoro and Olivia Chavez Guerrero.
Lupe was a hard working kind man who spent most of his life doing road construction, having helped to build many bridges around the state of Texas. He knew the key to life was to love God, love family, and to treat everyone the way he would want to be treated. While he could be hard-headed he had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand to family and neighbors alike. He wasn’t the type of person to get rattled by anything, always approaching everything that came his way with a calm and mellow attitude while he assessed the situation. Lupe’s family was the most important thing to him, he was a great husband, father, and grandfather, and an even better great-grandfather as his great-grandbabies were his pride and joy. In his spare time Lupe could be found where he loved to be which was outdoors. While outside he could be seen working on his yard, working on a vehicle, or listening to music with family and having a great time, usually munching on sunflower seeds or having a Coke with peanuts. About the only time during the day that he wasn’t seen outside is when he was watching the Cowboys play ball. Lupe was full of life, love, and wisdom, always made sure that his family were hard workers and kept their faith. The lessons he taught and the memories shared will live on for generations to come and he will be truly missed by all that knew him.
