

She was born to Weldon and Joan Hays McCollum on May 15, 1960 in Big Spring, Texas.
Melinda grew up in Loraine where she graduated high school in 1978. After high school she went to Howard College earning her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 1980. After graduating she married her first husband Randy Reavis on May 9th 1980, the two of them shared many wonderful years together until his passing in May 2006. On February 7th 1985 she was blessed with her daughter Kelli who survives. In 2014 she married Doyce Michael Lee who preceded her in death in July 2024.
Melinda was a community nurse serving 42 years in Big Spring, Stanton, and Midland, working the majority of her career at the Martin County Hospital in Stanton as Director of Nursing. In her spare time she enjoyed being with family, gardening, scuba diving, going to Possum Kingdom Lake, and helping stray animals.
Melinda is survived by her mother Joan McCollum of Midland, her daughter Kelli Harrison and husband Brandon of Midland, and her grandchildren Boyce Harrison and Klint Harrison also of Midland. She is also survived by her sister Susan Solomon and husband Gene of San Angelo, by nieces Catherine Larsen and husband Johnny of Denver, CO, and Nicole Cooprider and husband Nick of Chicago IL, and by nephew David Solomon and wife Kelsey of Houston, TX, as well as by the Reavis and Lee families.
She was preceded in death by her husbands Randy Reavis and Doyce Mike Lee, and by her father Weldon McCollum.
A graveside service for Melinda will be held in the Loraine Cemetery on Saturday, March 29th at 10 am with Geory Martin officiating.
In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in her memory to the Meals on Wheels program in Midland, Texas.
Melinda’s family would like to extend a warm thank you to the great care that was extended to her by Home Hospice of Odessa, by her nurses Misti and Melanie, and by her sitters Carla and Trish.
