Pat Hudgins was born on May 9, 1940 to Wilma Lee Hudgins and Roscoe Hudgins. She passed from this earth on September 19, 2015. She was a member of the Loraine Church of Christ. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home. Services will be on Wednesday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. at the Kiker-Seale Funeral Home Chapel in Colorado City, with burial to follow in the Loraine Cemetery.
From a young age, she was very active in sports and played tennis, volleyball, basketball, and softball. She also enjoyed watching college and professional football. She graduated from Howard Junior College with an Applied Arts Degree in Accounting. She worked as a secretary/receptionist for Galbraith Steel and Supply in Lubbock, and then for Lawrence & Littlefield, CPA’s. Upon moving to San Antonio in 1972 she worked for Howell Hydrocarbons, Inc. as the accounting manager. In 1995 she returned to Colorado City to care for her Mother and began volunteering at the Wallace Senior Center. Her business skills were put to good use as the Treasurer of the Loraine Ex-Students Association, a position she held for many years.
She enjoyed music and was a member of the Loraine Quartet, singing gospel music throughout the area with Roscoe Hudgins, Don Richard, Archie Scarbrough and her mother, Wilma, on the piano. She loved Southern Gospel as well as Country and collected many albums, and cds. As much as she loved sports and music, she probably loved her pets and family and friends even more. She was always willing to help others and was loyal and dependable.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Roscoe and Wilma. Survivors include her two sisters, Judy Rankin and Becky Hudgins; niece, Laurie and husband, Mark Schmidt; nephew, Robert Rankin; two great-nephews, Justin and wife, Bobi Pelt, and Coby Pelt; one great-niece, Brandi Pelt; and, three great-great-nieces, Isabella, Samantha, and Kaylee Pelt, and one great-great-nephew, Jordan Pelt.
