Pedro "Pete" Orona

Colorado City – Mr. Pete Orona, age 51, of Colorado City, died Tuesday in a Stanton hospital. Services will be Friday, January 14, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Saint Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will follow at Mitchell County Cemetery. There will be a Rosary at the Funeral Home on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 7:00 P. M.. All arrangements will be under the care and direction of Kiker- Seale Funeral Home.

Mr. Orona was born on April 26, 1959 in Loraine, TX to Jose and Consuelo Orona and was a lifelong resident of Colorado City, TX. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Pete worked for Robinson Drilling. He loved music, hot rods, motorcycles, and working on oil rigs since he was 15 yrs old. Pete was a loving father, grandfather, brother ,son and uncle.

Survivors include a son: Derek Keith Orona and wife Jessica of Ft. Worth; daughter: Tuesdey Elizebeth Orona and John Faught of Lubbock,TX; grandchildren: Drew Keith Orona and Joshua Derek Orona; parents: Jose and Consuelo Orona; brothers: David Orona and wife Mary Jane of Snyder, Sabino Orona and wife Colleen of Midland, Robert Orona and wife Diana of Roswell, New Mexico, Tony Orona and wife Kay of Colorado City, Ruben Orona and wife Tenchie of New Braunfels,TX, Arthur Orona of Austin,TX; sisters: Josie Ortegon and husband Mario of Roscoe, Rita Rushing and husband Bill of Kingwood, TX; former wife and mother of his children, Pennie Elizebeth Laws.
