Rachel Moreno

She was born in Loraine Texas on August 20, 1948 to Estanislado and Julia Rodriguez Moreno.

Rachel was a devout Catholic woman who was strong in her faith. She was the type of woman who never met a stranger, always making friends with ease, it seemed like everybody knew her. In her spare time she could be seen attending the local sporting events with her friends, especially when she had a family member participating. She was known for her cooking, especially her tamales and her tortillas, as she loved to cook for everybody. In her spare time she enjoyed talking on the phone to friends and family, playing BINGO, watching her old shows and the Dallas Cowboys. She was loved as much as she loved others and will be dearly missed.

Rachel is survived by her father Estanislado Moreno Sr. of Sweetwater, and her kids Krystal Acevedo and husband Miguel of Roscoe, Jacob Sanchez of Big Spring, and Michelle Acevedo and husband Rafael of Loraine and by grandkids Aliniah, Andrew, Joshua, Christopher, Ariana, Noah, and Aaliyah Acevedo. Also surviving are her brothers Tanis Moreno Jr. and wife Alice of Colorado City, Jesse Moreno of Midland, and Ricky Moreno and wife Kady of Midland, and by sisters Rosa Benitez of Loraine, Lupe Moore and husband Jerry of Midland, Alice Moreno and husband John Moreno of Abilene, Mary Ybarra of Sweetwater, Julie Sanchez and husband Frank of Loraine, Gloria Lucas and husband Rick of Loraine, Linda Moreno of Liberty Hill, and Kristi Galvan and husband Kirk of Midland, as well as by several nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Julia Moreno.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Rachel will be held on Tuesday, September 16th at 10 am in Saint Ann’s Catholic Church in Colorado City with Father Michael Udegbunam officiating. Burial will follow in the Loraine Cemetery with Jacob Sanchez, Rafael Acevedo, Ryan Lucas, Joseph Castillo, Adam Ybarra, Jaysen Gomez, and Miguel Acevedo serving as pallbearers.

The family will be present for a visitation on Monday September 15th from 5-7pm with a rosary to follow in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel.
