

Robert “Dale” Dickard, 74, of Colorado City, Texas, passed away on August 31, 2025, after a brief illness. Born in 1950 at Root Memorial Hospital to Leon and Doris Dickard, Dale was a lifelong resident of Mitchell County. He graduated from Colorado High School in 1970.
On July 27, 1973, Dale married his beloved wife, Denna Brown, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years. Together, they built a life filled with love and treasured memories. Dale was a proud father to his daughters, Cara Dickard of Abilene, Texas, and Staci Lopez Vergara, and her husband Miguel of Trophy Club, Texas. He found immense joy in spending time with his cherished grandchildren, Carlie, Ayven, Miguel, and Madilyn.
Known for his relentless and unwavering work ethic, Dale spent many years farming cotton on the family farm in China Grove. He had a true passion for farming, always eager to check on all the cotton crops as he traveled down the road. After his years in farming, he also worked at Jay Adams Chevrolet and Myers Auto Parts before proudly serving the City of Colorado City, and retiring in 2015.
Beyond his career, Dale was a skilled craftsman with hobbies that included woodworking, bladesmithing, and welding. He also had a love for landscaping, earning him yard of the month in August of 1979.
He cultivated a legacy of strength, resilience, and unconditional love, and his humor and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dale is survived by his loving wife, Denna, his daughters, grandchildren, his brother Hall Dickard and wife Sandra of Colorado City, as well as his friend since the 7th grade James Owens, of Colorado City. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Doris Dickard.
A celebration of life will be held by his family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Dale's memory to a charity of your choice.
