He was born on April 7, 1941, in Roscoe, Texas to the late Travis and Avilene Beights Hallmark.
Rodney was a good man that never met a stranger. He was a great husband and father and will be missed deeply. Rodney married the love of his life Miss Ann Smith on December 3, 1964, at the Wilshire Park Baptist Church in Midland, Texas and together they raised 3 children.
Throughout Rodney’s life he worked as a farmer, for the refinery in Big Spring and as a corrections officer for TDCJ in Fort Stockton, at the Daniel Unit in Snyder, and at the Wallace Unit of Colorado City once they opened. He was a graduate of Loraine High Class of 1959 and while in school won a state championship for playing the trombone. He was also an accomplished pianist and organist and earned his pilot’s license by the time he was 18, so to say that he was a talented man was an understatement. He was proud that he got to own 3 planes in his lifetime. In his spare time he enjoyed welding, woodworking, gardening, and golfing.
Rodney is survived by his loving wife Ann Hallmark of Loraine, by a son Randy Hallmark of Loraine, and by a daughter Mitzi Hallmark of Dallas, as well as by several cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Travis and Avilene Hallmark and by a son Ricky Hallmark.
No services have been scheduled for Rodney at this time.
In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation in his memory to the Loriane Methodist Church, P.O. Box 306, Loraine, Texas 79532
