
Ross Thurman Glover, Sr. born September 23, 1922 passed away peacefully on Tuesday August 7, 2012 surrounded by his family in Dripping Springs, Texas. Ross grew up in Colorado City, Texas where he attended high school and was a graduate of Texas A&M University. He married his high school sweetheart, Ruth Louise Hardison in 1943. Ross served in the Army in the Battle of Okinawa, returning home in 1944 after being awarded 2 Purple Hearts. After recovery, he returned to Colorado City where he taught agriculture to veterans. The couple later moved to Houston, Texas in 1952, where he joined R.M. Hardison Company and worked there until his retirement. Ross is preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Phyllis Glover; his brother, Rudel Glover; and his wife of 61 years, Ruth Louise Hardison Glover. He is survived by his son, Ross T. Glover, Jr. and his wife, Edna C. Glover; granddaughter, Allison Corinne Glover Brown and her husband, Brandon S. Brown; great-granddaughters, Ivy Maddison and Paisley Elise Brown; nephew, Bill Hardison and his wife, Linda Johnston Hardison; niece, Ann Hardison Dashiell and her children Elizabeth Dashiell, Amy Bass, and Mark Dashiell. Graveside services will be held at Colorado City Cemetery by Kiker-Seale Funeral Home on Saturday, August 11th at 10:00 am.
The family will be receiving friends on Friday afternoon from 3 until 5 PM.
