She was born in Beeville, Texas to Juan and Mercedes Rodriguez Solis on June 21, 1933, where she was raised on a farm until moving to Colorado City.
Teresa was a resident of Mitchell County for over 70 years and a devout Catholic. She was very strong in her faith. She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother a family could ask for, always putting their needs above her own. Every chance she got there was a fresh pie or a fresh cake cooked for her loved ones to enjoy, and she loved to entertain her guests with food. In her spare time she enjoyed going to the ranch and watching all the wild animals, quilting, coloring, going to BINGO, and keeping her mind sharp with word searches. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.
Teresa is survived by her son Rudy Castillo and wife Marivel of Colorado City, by grandchildren Ramiro Castillo and wife Angelica, and Andy Castillo and wife Supapan also of Colorado City, and by great grandchildren Jayden, Ellie, Dominic, Kylea, Joshua, Julius, and Joseph, as well as by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Mercedes Solis, by her husband Tom Castillo, and by brothers Juan Antonio Solis Jr and Charlie Solis and by a sister Beatrice Garcia.
The family will be present for a visitation in the Kiker Seale Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, April 21st from 5-7 pm with a rosary to follow at 7pm. A service for Teresa will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 22nd at 10 am, before the burial in the Colorado City Cemetery.
