He was born in Cotulla, Texas on April 15, 1936 to Ysidro and Guadalupe Gonzales.
To best describe Ysidro he was a family man. Everything he did in life was for his family. There was not a day that went by where they could not feel the love that he had for them. He was a great husband, father, and grandfather and a man who never met a stranger. He was always there to help or to motivate when he was needed. As his children were growing up he was stern, yet loving, never laying a hand upon them, rather disciplining through motivation and encouragement. As he got older he got even more tender making sure to spoil his grandchildren and beyond every chance he got, as they were the apple of his eye. Ysidro had an infectious smile which never seemed to dim, especially when he had family over. When he was not working to provide for his family he could be found gathering with family, helping neighbors make repairs, hunting, fishing, doing yard work, building things, or painting. He will be dearly missed by all who loved him.
Ysidro is survived by sons John Gonzales of Big Spring, Texas and Fabian Gonzales of Colorado City, Texas, by daughters Dora Alaniz and husband Tony of Westbrook, Texas, Margarita Gonzales of Fort Worth, Texas, Petra Nunez and husband David of Colorado City, Texas, and Frances Soliz of Big Sandy, Texas, as well as by 21 grandchildren, and by several great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
