

Bert was born on June 8, 1925, in Staten Island, New York to Leila Clinkett and Albert Kramer. Bert attended New Dorp High School, after which he enlisted in the US Navy.
During his time in the Navy, he served in WWII in the Pacific as a Radarman on the Destroyer USS Lansdowne. He attended various colleges including Wagner, Colgate and MIT.
The majority of Bert’s working career was spent at the Home Insurance Company in Manhattan. He started working with computers in the late 50’s and became a Vice President and Officer of the Company working in data processing and quality assurance.
Bert was married to Elise Wollenweber, his wife of 59 years. Elise was an elementary school teacher in the New York City School system for 36 years. After being snowbirds for several years, they retired to Ormand Beach Florida and lived there for over 25 years.
He was a dedicated golfer. As a member of Richmond County Country Club (NYC) and Oceanside Country Club (Ormand Beach, FL), he played golf well into his 90’s and was able to shoot his age.
Bert is survived by his son, Robert Kramer (Margaret); two granddaughters, Lindsay Chandler (Scott) and Mackenzie Knighten (Adam) and five great grandchildren; brother C. Andrew Kramer (Lynne) and sister Katherine Symons (Mark).
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents and brother Steven.
