Mrs. Gwinn, age 88 died peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022. Born in Columbia S.C., she was the daughter of Doris Benjamin and Emma Madden Whitener. She received a degree from Spartanburg Junior College of South Carolina. She married Curt Gwinn and was a devoted wife and mother who loved taking care of her family. Family birthdays and holidays were a special time for her as she loved cooking and visiting with family. Her favorite animals were her Arabian horses and Jack Russel terrier. Gardening and Family genealogy were her other interests. She was a member of Lebanon Methodist Church in Eastover.
Surviving are two sons, Johnny (Marie) Gwinn of Hopkins S.C. and Layton (Caroline) Gwinn of Aiken S.C., five grandchildren, Savannah (Shaun) Lilly of Covington G.A. and Curt Gwinn III (Margaret) of Eastover S.C. and Ashbrook of Aiken S.C., Layton Jr. of Madison W.I. and Virginia of Aiken S.C., three great-grandchildren, William Gwinn, Emerson Gwinn and Lyla Lilly. She was predeceased by husband, Curt Gwinn; son, Steven Michael Gwinn; brother, Robert Parks Whitener; sister-in-law, Patsy Cash Whitener; sister-in-law, Doris Gwinn Hamrick and brother-in-law, Fields Hamrick.
