Betty Abbott Reynolds

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Betty Abbott Reynolds, 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 9, 2015, at Park Street Baptist Church, with burial in Crescent Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mrs. Reynolds died Sunday, January 4, 2015. Born in Columbia, she was a daughter of the late Henry Belton Abbott and Elizabeth Boyer Abbott. Mrs. Reynolds owned and operated Betty’s on Bagnal Beauty Shop, she was an active volunteer for the Muscular Dystrophy Association for over 54 years, especially with the MDA telethon, served as a beautician at Dunbar Funeral Home for over 40 years; member of the Bagnal Drive neighborhood club and an active member of Park Street Baptist where she taught Sunday school. Surviving are her sons, Charles “Chuck” Reynolds (Carolyn) of Eutawville, Wayne Reynolds (Penny) of Hopkins; daughter, Marie R. Russell of Columbia; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ruby Hollis (Johnny) of Chapin. She was predeceased by her husband, Frank Reynolds; and brothers, Henry Broadus Abbott and Earle Abbott.
