COLUMBIA Bridget Katherine Anne Felix Kneece unexpectedly passed away Friday, October 22, 2021 at her home in Columbia. She leaves behind her husband, Rexford Patrick Kneece; her children, Madelon Ann Kneece Dotterer (Gilly), Rexford Patrick Kneece, Jr., Salters Augustus Kneece, and Robert Piers Kneece; her mother, Judith Felix; and her siblings, Danielle Nisbet (Chip), R. Nicholas Felix (Lindy), and Conan Peter Felix (Ali) and a considerable extended family of in-laws, nieces, and nephews who will miss her dearly.
Bridget and her identical twin sister, Dany, were born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania on September 23, 1964. The family moved to South Carolina in 1966 and she became a lifelong South Carolinian.
She received her primary school education at St. Martin de Porres, Saint Joseph’s and Cardinal Newman Catholic Schools, including a year at Ecole Primaire en Royat in Clermont Ferrand, France during her father’s sabbatical. She graduated from the University of South Carolina Honors College and received a Master’s Degree in International Business.
After graduate school, Bridget moved to Paris, France to work for Merck Pharmaceutical. From there, she moved to New York to manage U.S. stores for a French children's boutique, Petit Bateau.
Bridget loved to learn, travel, and immerse herself into different cultures but she was a South Carolinian at heart. She moved home and married Rex Kneece on June 24, 1989. She and Rex raised four children and maintained an extensive network of friends.
As Bridget’s children grew, she entered the industry of interior design. Working first at Mac Home, she later opened her own business with Stuart Jenkins - Spruce Design. Through this business, she was able to take her vision and share it with others, creating beautiful homes and floral arrangements.
She cultivated a life that enhanced the lives of so many others. She will be remembered as someone who was wholeheartedly devoted to the well-being of her friends and her family. She was genuine and loving and had a quirky sense of humor that made her truly enjoyable to be around.
She will forever leave a hole in the hearts of those who were close to her. She loved greatly and she was greatly loved.
