Cathleen Joy Whiddon Dean, 57, of Columbia, passed away at Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital on Thursday, December 17, 2015, after a long illness. Joy was born on March 26, 1958 in Columbia, where she was raised by her parents, Kathy and Hal Hartzog, and grandmother, Katherine Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Ashley Jarrell Crow and husband, Matt Crow; her daughter, Hannah Jane Dean; and three grandchildren, Emerson Crow, Marshall Crow, and Zane Bouknight. Visitation will be held at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, on Sunday, December 20, 2015, at 1:00 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.
