COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Charles Bennie Timmons, 77, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 23, 2021, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Olympia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, at the funeral home.
Mr. Timmons died Monday, July 19, 2021. Born October 21, 1943, in Columbia, he was a son of the late Charles Smith Timmons and Georgia Louise Jackson Timmons. He was a graduate of Olympia High School, Class of 1961, and attended Midlands Technical College. He was an avid sportsman and loved to play cards. Mr. Timmons was a lifelong member of Whaley Street United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his sister, Mary Fitzsimons of Columbia; brother, George Timmons of Cayce; nieces, Belinda, Donna and Karen; nephews, Aaron and Christopher; 11 great nieces and nephews; four great-great nieces and nephews.
