

COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Annie Corine Taylor Gamble, 97, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 14, 2016, at Southside Baptist Church, with burial in Crescent Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-3 at the church prior to the service. Her grandsons will serve as active pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy and Betty Hilliard and the R.L. Hilliard family. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family. Mrs. Gamble passed away Friday, February 12, 2016. Born in Williamsburg County, she was a daughter of the late Whittie Hall Taylor and Alice Gertrude Kellahan Taylor. She retired from Springs Mills in Columbia after 45 years of service. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church for 82 years, where she served as hostess of family night meals and a worker in the nursery. She was a member of the “We are Olympia” Association. Surviving are her daughter, Alice G. Spigner of Lexington; sons, Larry Gamble (Jean) of Columbia, F.M. “Boogie” Gamble (Betty) of Gaffney, Baxter Gamble (Rita) of Abbeville and Tony Gamble (Debbie) of Lone Star; daughter-in-law, Rosa Gamble of Lexington; brother, Marvin Taylor of Columbia; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband of 75 years, Baxter McLendon Gamble; son, Glyde J. Gamble; son-in-law, Franklin D. Spigner; three brothers and three sisters.
