

Dennis Walton Parker, age 83, of Cayce, South Carolina passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2024. Born in Greenville, he was the son of the late Alton and Marguerite Parker. Dennis graduated from Orangeburg High School. He worked in the insurance industry and retired with over 30 years of service as a Claims Adjuster with Ohio Casualty Insurance Company. He was a Ham Radio operator for over 60 years. His call sign was K4DWP and he talked to people all over the world. He was an avid golfer and always enjoyed being on the golf course. In his retirement he worked at Charwood Country Club and often volunteered at PGA events. He loved animals, especially dogs. He and his wife, Nancy, had a special love for Scottish Terriers. Over their more than 46 years together they owned and loved many Scotties. Dennis was well known for his sense of humor and loved to joke around. He could make everyone laugh in spite of the many illnesses he battled over the years.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lexington Medical Center and South Carolina Oncology Associates for their loving care over the last 23 years.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Peurifoy Parker; sons, Michael Newhart Parker (Kimberly), Dennis David Parker; daughters, Elizabeth Claire Parker and Jacqueline Suzanne Batey (Thomas); grandchildren, Stephanie Suzanne Parker, Lauren Elizabeth Parker, Andrew Michael Parker, Ashley Elizabeth Parker and Matthew Newhart Parker; great-grandson Aaron Connor Wilson; sister, Gail Edge
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Alton Parker and Tony Parker and sister Linda Fulford.
A private burial will take place at Live Oak Cemetery in Walterboro at a later date.
