

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Elizabeth “Libby” Coleman Kelly, 67, will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Shandon United Methodist Church Sanctuary. A reception will be held following the service in the Wesley Fellowship Hall and will be hosted by her Friendship Sunday School Class. A private burial will be held earlier at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Elizabeth died Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Born in Columbia, SC, she was a daughter of the late Jerol Kenneth Coleman, Sr. and Betty Cannon Coleman. She earned her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and later completed her master’s degree in human resources at Roosevelt University in Chicago. Elizabeth was employed by Seibels Bruce Group and Harco National Insurance Company in Chicago. She was a member of Shandon United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. She also was in charge of her Multiple Sclerosis group.
Surviving are her brothers, Jerol Kenneth Coleman, Jr. (Diane), and Edwin David Coleman (Crys); sister, Janie Lou Coleman Garner (Tom); nieces and nephews, Janie Garner Lopez (Michael), Becca Garner Johnson (Peter), Adam Coleman, Matthew Coleman, and Andrew Coleman; great-niece, Laura; great-nephew, Hudson; and numerous cousins.
The family wishes to thank Libby’s wonderful caregivers Mary Brown, Ta’Cory Watkins, Kimberly Brown, Belle Little, and Hospice and the nurses at MUSC.
