

COLUMBIA - A funeral service for Eve Beatrice Capretti, 94, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Mrs. Capretti, widow of MSGT William Capretti, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017. Born on January 7, 1923 in Dilltown, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Donato Toscani and Pia Rimoldi Toscani. Eve attended Conenaugh Township High School in Pennsylvania. She was a devoted and loving military wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by her family. She always made a loving home through many many moves. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a lifelong bowler and a member of the Fort Jackson Bowling League. Surviving are her daughters, Carol Jones (James) and Susan Wooten (Garry) both of Columbia; son, Frank Capretti (Mary Ann Duncan) of Charleston; grandsons, Will Wooten of Knoxville, TN and Matt Wooten of Columbia; and granddaughter, Jennifer McGill (John) of Columbia and her children, Yancey McGill and Ava Grace McGill. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Dino Toscani; and sisters, Clara Scipioni, Lena Poeta, and Geraldine Scipione.
