

COLUMBIA- Faye Lomansky Levinson, born February 15, 1927 in New York, passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2015. She was the only child of the late Louis and Selma Lomansky. Faye attended Camden public schools and the University of South Carolina, where she met the love of her life, Arnold, whom she was married to for 64 years. Faye and Arnold were the founders of Brittons clothing store which was established in 1949 and still serves the Columbia community today. She was a member of Beth Shalom Synagogue. A multi-faceted woman, Faye was a member of the Columbia Bridge Club, a fabulous baker, a great mah jong player, loved to travel and was a wonderful mother. She had a zest for life which will forever be remembered by her family and friends. Surviving are her children, Stefanie Levinson (Jake Bialos) of New York City, Lucky Levinson (Lisa) of Columbia, Susan Levinson Angert of Jupiter, Fla., Stacy Levinson (Perry Lancaster) of Columbia; grandchildren, Charles, Carly, Chase, Alex and Emily. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Margi Levinson Goldstein (late Julius) of Charlotte, N.C. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Beth Shalom Synagogue, 5827 North Trenholm Road, Columbia, SC 29206, United Way of the Midlands, Flood Relief, or a charity of one’s choice. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 27, 2015, at Beth Shalom Synagogue, with burial to follow in Hebrew Benevolent Burial Society, 720 Blanding Street. Shiva services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Beth Shalom Synagogue, Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Faye and Arnold Levinson. The family will receive friends immediately following Shiva each evening. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
