Harriet Argoe Graham

COLUMBIA Harriet Argoe Graham, 90, died Sunday, August 31, 2014. Born June 23, 1924 in Springfield, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Carlos Duncan and Mable Dyches Argoe. Harriet graduated from Springfield High School and attended Winthrop College, now Winthrop University, where she earned a certificate in business administration. She then moved to Columbia where she met and married George Donald Graham in 1945. Through the years Harriet worked for the University of South Carolina and Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Harriet was loved and adored by her family and friends. She is survived by two sons, Donald D. Graham of New York City and Timothy G. Graham and his wife, Michelle, of Columbia; two grandchildren, Darby Jill Graham and Tanner Charles Graham of Columbia; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and brothers and sister: Aubrey Argoe, Heyward Argoe, Hayne Argoe and Mary Duncan Argoe Fogle. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 5, 2014, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Ebenezer Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 5692, Columbia, SC 29250-5692, or a charity of one’s choice. The family would like to thank the staff of Generations of Irmo, Care by Generations and Lutheran Hospice for their love, care and support. Many of these went beyond the call of duty to care for Harriet.
