

Columbia – Henry Warren Richardson VII, age 74, passed peacefully, in his home, on Sunday, December 28, 2025. Born on October 03, 1951, in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late William King and Christine Botnen Richardson. Henry worked in the forklift industry for over 30 years and retired in June 2021 as Vice President of Marketing at Southland Equipment.
Serving his community in many capacities, Henry served on the Columbia Tip Club, board member of the BBB of Columbia, The Central SC Committee of 100, former Scout Master of Troup 324 and District Commissioner of Indian Waters Council. He was honored as a Silver Beaver Award recipient from Scouting America (formerly Boy Scouts of America). To help support others battling CLL, Henry founded The Possibilities Fund (a 501-3C). Only surpassed by his love of his family, Henry was an avid deer hunter, coordinating his therapies around deer season.
The family would like to express their gratitude to his healthcare teams who provided exceptional care, research opportunities and support for leukemia over the past 25 years – SC Oncology Associates (Drs Leland McElveen and Steven Minter, Mrs Kim DeWitt NP), Medical College of Georgia (Dr Farrukh Awan), Ohio State University and University of Cincinnati Medical Center (Drs John C. Byrd and Zulfa Omer, Mrs Allison Dean NP).
Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Dianne Phillips Richardson; his children, all of Columbia, Amanda Richardson Snodgrass (Wes), Jonathan Henry Richardson (Logan) and Ryan Phillip Richardson (Jo Ann); four grandchildren, William, Madelyn, Walker and Wells; sisters, Christina Richardson Wilhoit of Titusville, FL, Mary Richardson Brown (Oscar) of Columbia, SC and Ella Walton Richardson of Charleston, SC; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, William King Richardson, Jr.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 3,2026, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 04, 2026, in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
