Here we are. Years later and I was brought here after a dream/memory. I never saw this when you passed and I can't help but share with others just how great you were to people.
You were always a fun person to talk to. Of course we hit it off with our love of cars but something else made it easy as hell to relate with you.  We spent a good but if time riding around trying to buy "flip cars" on fb marketplace and enjoying the conversation and jokes.  Somewhere in that we joked about opening a shop together  and jokingly formed a plan.
That plan came to fruition April of 2014 and because of you we are still here going strong. You taught me so much and I'll never forget that. But the fact that you helped so many others like you did me is inspiring.  That's gonna be me. I'm going to keep what you taught me alive and pay it forward and share experience.   I love you Paul , our entire group talks of you regularly . Myself and Josh just talked about the fact that YOU helped him achieve home ownership and what that meant for him. You've always helped others, I hope I helped you

We all miss you!! It's already been basically 4 years! Me,Sophie, and Mia all miss you very much! We are all grown up. Its lonely without you but we all are pushing through. We love you!!

Hey Paul. I still can't believe your not here. I would always get a message from you out of the blue asking about what new phones I had, and about computer gaming. We would chat about anything. The convos I've always hung onto is our conversations about family. You always asked about mine and I always asked about yours. That's what you and I loved most. Our families. I hope to see you up there buddy. Im looking forward to our talks. Till we meet again Wu. 

When I first met Paul 15 years ago,  I would never have believed the importance he would have on my life.  I learned so much being around him for the past 6 years.  He taught me lessons and wisdom I’ll never forget, even when he wasn't trying to.  Just by spending time with him I saw how good of a man he was to everyone, whether they were a life-long friend or a stranger he had just met. I know my time with him has helped me become a better person, father, and friend. 

Our neighbors were cutting down some tree limbs yesterday and will be today. They use a two story lift to do so. Every beep of the lift shook me, yet I felt Paul saying “they will be fine.” I was worried of nightmares but had none. They come back tomorrow, yet I feel peace.

Cars, guns, and food. The foundation of Paul Wu and I's friendship. The first thing he ever said to me was, "Who's nismo 370z is that?" - inside a waffle house at 2 in the morning. Coincidentally, not knowing that I was going to come down and work for him a few years later. I will never forget our mid-day break adventures. Nor the late ones. You've mentored and guided so many of us with your vast knowledge and weird facts. Brother man you've helped me in so many ways that I can't begin to describe. You were always there when I needed you. No matter how ugly things were. Even then you still gave me the same damn, "Should be fine." And usually you were right. Sometimes. Rest in peace, brother.

I met Paul about 12 years ago while working at Tsunami. I was invited to hang out with them after work one night and immediately felt the bond you feel with a forever friend. It was from that night on that we quickly became family...from bowling nights and late night shenanigans, to “family” dinner nights at Paul and Sally’s house.
They later opened Ganbei, where they graciously offered me extremely flexible hours to support my other job, and eventually support my schooling to become a nurse. 
Paul was the type of guy who could get along with anyone. At the end of a shift, when we were ready to close out and couldn’t find Paul, we knew to check the tables. He was most likely making conversation with a customer and building a new lasting relationship....either that or playing a game on his phone somewhere. Lol. The Ganbei Crew always made jokes about how the restaurant could be on fire around him, and he’d try to find the positive in the situation, followed by a “should be fine.” 
Paul was the type of guy you could go months without talking to, yet he would literally stop whatever he was doing at the drop of a hat to help a friend. He was one of the most genuinely caring men I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was funny. He was loving. He was smart. He was kind. The world lost an amazing man entirely too soon.

Cars, video games, technology,  and the next business venture, Paul was always game. He would tell you straight up what he was thinking and I admired that. I first met Paul at a  car meet when I walked up and asked how he likes that GTR, to which he responded “It’s pretty uncomfortable, probably gonna sell it soon.” It wasn’t until till late 2017 that we began to speak often. Nearly every night he pop into discord to see what everyone was up to. He was one of the good ones.

What can I say that hasn’t already been said man... You literally helped me keep food on my table. Every summer, when I’d leave you guys, you always took me back and even wondered when I would be back. You seen potential in me and helped to elevate my status here in the restaurant industry. Man I am forever grateful. Something like this doesn’t deserve to happen to a family so amazing. Thank you so much for everything Paul. Much love brother.

Dear Paul,

Ever since that day we met at the Russell House, you’ve been nothing more than an excellent friend. You alway lend a helping hand whenever asked or you see that someone needs help. For example, when I was entering my senior summer in school I didn’t have a place to live. I didn’t ask if I could stay with you and nor did you even know I didn’t have a place to live. You hadn’t seen me in a while, so you called me over to hangout and grab something to eat (which Paul LOVED to eat). When we were leaving your apartment, you saw I had a lot of junk in my car. You asked me why I have all that stuff in my car and I told you my story about how I was living. So when we got back from eating, you asked me to open my car trunk. I did as you asked and you started grabbing stuff out of my car. I asked what you were doing and you told me that I am staying with you until I graduate. I begged and pleaded with you to give you money or pay a bill something to justify me staying with you. You refused my money every time I offered to give it to you! Paul was the type of man that would do gestures like that throughout his life. Paul was a special human being that you rarely meet in this world! I’m glad that I got a chance to know you. You will be surely missed but never forgotten.

I have only known Paul for a little over a year now. His impact to me is much greater. His personality is infectious with a smile that can brighten the world. You could not have a gloomy day around him, always uplifting; laughing and optimistic. Having seen him the day before his passing the volatility of human life shakes me and I hope to be a glimmer of the sunshine Paul has left on the world. 

I can't  sleep so I guess I'll write. I really am thankful to get to know such an amazing man father husband and most of all friend. Not only was he a friend to me but also to my two daughters and family. Paul was the kind of man who could relate to almost anyone, young and old. If I had a question about anyting from my car to what kind of shoes should I buy my oldest. He would have an answer. You will truly be missed my friend but your memories will last on forever in me and my family's heart! 

I first met Jiashun when he came to the US as a young foreign exchange student and lived at my parents' house (I was in college at the time).  He was always fun-loving and kind.  I remember even the very first day, after putting his suitcase away , he came out of his room and sat down in the livingroom and starting becoming part of the conversation.  He went out of his way to enjoy everything and everyone around him & his smile was contagious!  Even years later, when he had moved far away, he still called my mom, "his American mom" & would call her on Mother's Day.  He loved my parents and appreciated their hospitality and he forever made his mark on our family.   I am praying for his wife and daughters & I am so very sorry for their loss.

I knew of Paul long before actually meeting him in 2006. I had heard about his passion for automobiles and that he enjoyed the car scene. I shared the same interests which created a quick, easy bond between us.  When we met, I found him to be humble, easy going, generous and super friendly. The more time we spent together, it became apparent that we had much in common. Even though our lives pulled us in different directions, when we did spend time together it was as though we hadn’t missed a beat. Our conversations flowed easily and genuinely.  I’m going to miss how Paul challenged me to be better and do better, our insightful discussions, and his ability to bring out the best in me through those conversations.  Of all the things that I knew of Paul, he always said Family comes first. He loved Sally and his little girls deeply. He will be missed by all of us.  Whether it be in heaven, the next life, or perhaps in some random place no one knows about, I look forward to our next cruise, time at the firing range, playing video games, or even just good old conversation.

Paul was one of the most kind and generous people I’ve ever met . I met him probably back in 2004 I would say. We went to a lot of car shows together and had a blast . If I ever needed a laugh I would call Paul bc Paul would tell it how it is. If I ever needed anything Paul would come help. I told Paul once I need to go by a vacuum for carpet all I have is one that is for hardwoods , next thing you know he showed up with a vacuum and said here to go. He was a great man all around . Very hard worker, it could be any night of the week and you would see him in his restraunt walking around talking to all of the guest. Paul was a great husband and father. He loved his family. He will be deeply missed .

Paul was knowledgeable, passionate, kind, genuine, positive, funny, and the greatest husband and father to his three daughters. When my husband Joe and I wanted to get a new car but didn't know which one to get, he's devoted his time and effort to find the vehicle we wanted. Thanks to him, we got a new reliable family vehicle. 

There were one time my husband's car broke down on the highway and needed my help but I just moved down here and  I wasn't familiar with the area yet. Paul dropped everything he was doing that morning and went straight there to help my husband. He was always willing to reach his hand out to help everyone. 

Paul was not only my brother in law that I've known. He was also my older brother and I looked up to him as my role model. 

Paul, Sally, my husband Joe and I, the four of us always hung out together and we always laughed about silly, stupid jokes. I will missed those times that we spent together. 

I met Paul 4 years ago when I began working at Freshe Poke. As a shy and quiet 16-year-old, Paul intimidated me in a way that pushed me to grow. After being a part of the Freshe Poke family I learned so much from him. He loved life and his family and greeted every person with a smile. Paul could have hour-long conversations with a complete stranger because he was just a genuinely loving person. I remember him joking about how I take everything so seriously and that I need to have fun every once in a while. And one day all I can hope is to love and find the fun in life as much as Paul Wu did. 

I met Paul 13 years ago while attending UofSC with his wife Sally and have 3 very distinct memories of him: 
My 1st memory is our initial encounter when Sally and I were going to lunch after class. Paul just showed up on campus to surprise Sally with a random lunch and even extended an invitation to me.  Paul always cared for Sally and took care to even accommodate and include her friends.
My 2nd memory is after college, going to Ganbei their first restaurant on a date. When Paul learned I was on a date, he served us personally and wouldn't even let me pay. He just smiled and told me to have a good time and not worry about it. Paul was always generous and thoughtful in his own way. Whether he knew you or not never mattered. He just wanted to help and ensure that everyone was having a good time.
My 3rd memory is of visiting Paul and Sally in their home in Lexington. I spent most of the day catching up with Sally, all the while Paul was running around the house with CeCe on his shoulders playing with her, making weird noises so she would laugh while Sally and I had an opportunity to catch up. Paul loved his family and especially their daughters. 

He will dearly be missed by all. 

I met Paul  thru his restaurants. First while he was managing Tsunami. When he and Sally  started Ganbei in Lexington  I quickly became a regular. Quality was always presented in every dish and Paul made sure you were pleased.  My daughters were younger and would come with me. Makayla was eager to work but a bit younger than Paul had hired but he saw a spark in her and hired her. She worked with Paul and learned a great work ethic. She would later babysit for his girls . She made life long friends working at Ganbei and is presently a PHD student. She always came home with the greatest stories of Paul’s humor. Just days before he passed she had eaten at Freshe poke.  Paul came and sat to chat with her and catch up. We were heartbroken to hear of the loss of Paul.  He loved his family and I recall his joy over every daughter born! He was meant to be a girl Dad. I’m grateful for the time he took with Makayla and sharing with her. I believe it helped her while she was setting her life’s course to never settle. We will truly miss his great smile and concern for every friend. Once you were his friend it was for a lifetime. We are here for your family to laugh , share and grieve together. Love, Lisa Gibson

I met Paul many years ago through mutual car friends. We became closer friends as time went on, Paul answered a Facebook post one time where I was looking for a bowling partner, he told me he wasn’t any good but he always had fun bowling. I invited him to join me and another friend to round out our team.  When we showed up that first night we got the surprise that it was a blacklight bowing league. Paul turned out to be a pretty good bowler! We took that league by storm that summer. We became closer friends after having fun that summer in the league. 

I remember always being proud that I got to create the “check in” for Ganbei when it first opened. As life went on we didn’t see each other in person as often unless we cross led paths at a car show or we were visiting one of the restaurants. We still seemed to text pretty often. I’ll miss Paul very much, he was one of those people you could not talk to for weeks or a month and you pick up conversations with like you were just hanging out yesterday. I’ll miss those random texts asking about tires or links to Teslas I should buy. Thoughts and prayers go out to Sally, the girls, and the rest of the family. 

Paul there is not enough words that that can describe your character! I consider you family, and immediately had a connection  with you from day one that could never be replaced.  You were always kind, gentle, charismatic, goofy, always in a good mood, positive, ambitious, hard working, passionate, amazing husband and father, smart, and the best of friend anyone could ever ask for!  You have always been there willing to help anyone in need. I can't ever remember you getting upset with anyone no matter what the situation was.  You carried a poise about you that I only wish I could measure up to, and always gave me the security that everything was always going to be fine.  We have so many things in common from show cars,  gun collecting,  world business, love for nice things, love for food, good music, love of technology, always 110% above and beyond, if you were doing it it was going to be right and you always went the extra mile!  You were always somebody that could lift me up, and touched our family in so many ways! I hope I can be half the man that you are.  You are a man of integrity. I have so many memories of you that will not be forgotten, and I hope to share more with you in the future! I know one thing for sure, even though I want to be selfish and have you here on earth with us, I know you are in a better place. I want you know that I will always be here for your family until the end, and we will one day all get to be together again.  Until then I will miss you dearly, but I am at peace knowing that your in a good place now. Don't worry about things here, everything is going to be alright, I love you so much Paul!

I met Paul through a mutual friend, Alex when I first came back to the States after leaving the country for a few years. He always made me feel welcome whenever we meet up in Columbia. He was more like a mentor to me when we first met, as time goes by, it grew into friendship, a friendship that I thought was going to last a lifetime.

All the conversation we had about restaurants, the guns, cars. You giving me a call when you are in Charlotte. Random phone calls from you catching up. The hang out time we have. I remember we always be like: ice cream? Haha.

Or we see a nice car, and you'll look at me: go buy it. Lol.

I miss you bro. 

Till we meet again brother. 

I miss the days we used to work together. Paul and I shared a love for collecting sneakers, talking tech and cars. He always pushed me to reach for my goals and never let anything hold me back. All the memories of you will be shared and carried on. We still gotta build that desk PC together. I'll see you again someday. 

I met Paul when he came to live with our family as a foreign exchange student. He was young, full of energy, and was the kindest soul I've ever known. We spent lots of time together just hanging out, being teenagers, and making memories that will last a lifetime. One of my favorite memories of who I knew as Jiashun, was when we sat on my parents front porch and shaved the head of our other exchange student, Jun Ma. We laughed as we shaved, and we took pictures. Paul also bought a playstation while he lived with us, and we spent countless hours playing games and eating junk food. I will miss him, but his memory will live on in my heart. Rest well brother, until we meet again.

I met Paul when we were at Ben Lippen, I was there just for a semester but we became very close. He was a gentleman, a very funny guy, he was kind and sweet. He was always there when needed, and he would always cheer you up when you were in need. I was heartbroken to hear that a great person as Paul was gone... this world lost not any person, but a great man. I belive that all people that got to meet him (not even for long) were touched by his great spirit. I send all my condolences to his family. 

Paul had a way with people, down to earth guy with a knack of making people feel welcome in his restaurant.  Ganbei was particularly impressive for Lexington and was nicely done! 
For the Asian community a young guy making leaps and bounds was impressive to see.  God be him always..


I met Paul and Sally at Tsubaki 2009 since then we all became friends and until now. Paul is a good friend, good father to his beautiful children and  a good Husband to Sally.....Paul always smile you will learn a lot from Paul last time  we saw him  Paul was talking about Business he is all about business and he is good at it.and then ask how’s the kids and smile. Paul you will be missed you are a good friend to many of us You will never be forgotten.REST IN HEAVEN.

Paul was always such a positive person. He saw the best of any situation, and just moved past negativity. A conversation with Paul always left you feeling better than before. He is Loved, and will be missed. 

I was a professor of Paul’s in the graduate program at USC. Paul was an excellent student with a passion for the industry and a high entrepreneurial spirit. I was fortunate to stay in contact with Paul after his graduation and follow his successful career.  My condolences to the entire family of his sudden passing. 

I met Paul when he was first opening Ganbei. My husband and I were at the phone store (in the same shopping center as Ganbei) and I had to leave to get our child from school and was going to come back and pick him up.  Scott saw Paul’s Nissan GT-R in the parking lot..Paul came out of Ganbei and saw Scott looking at his car and offered him a ride in it. 
I’m waiting at the school for our child and here comes Scott riding in this Nissan GT-R with someone whom I don’t know. I was shocked. Scott got out of the car and come and said that Paul was the nicest guy he had met in a long time. After that we started going to Ganbei and Paul would come and visit us at our table and just talk. He would laugh b/c I ALWAYS got the Ganbei roll.. never differed. 
He will definitely be missed by us and our son Carson. 

I met Paul and Sally when I started to work for them at Ganbei. Paul was always such a kind and funny man. I remember one morning I opened up the restaurant and somehow I turned on a coffee burner that we never used because we had a fancy Dyson fan on top of the burner. Paul came up to me and was like " Did you turn on the coffee pot?" Then he takes me to the back where the fan is just completely melted. I felt so bad and I swore he was going to kill me but instead he just threw it away and said accidents happen. To this day I still say his favorite saying "should be fine" all the time.  Paul is very missed and he has touched a lot of lives and brought together so many people from so many backgrounds. He never judged and was just a bright light in this dark world.             

I first met Paul and Sally about 4-1/2 years ago.  We became fast friends and business associates.  Who could not love Paul and Sally?  Paul was an astute businessman, who took all things in stride, knowing the outcome would be best for all.  Paul was a 'gentle man' with a big heart, whom I believe, loved all types of  challenges and loved life, and most of all... his wife and girls.  I will miss his kind, gentle heart.  God Bless the Soul and Family of Paul Wu.  Many blessings....

Paul & Sally were neighbors that we adored.  Paul was always happy, easygoing and just had a great personality.  They were people you wanted to spend time with.  Paul would join our ‘porch parties’ occasionally.  So nice and pleasant.  He would bring the girls to see us.  He was a loving and proud father & loved his Sally.
Paul has left us way too early.  So many will miss him terribly.  Rest In Peace and know you touched many lives while you were with us.  xoxo

I started working at Ganbei my sophomore year of high school and worked there until I graduated high school. Ganbei was not just a job, Paul and Sally were not just my bosses, the people I worked with were not just coworkers, they were my family. Paul and Sally were the family I needed when I didn't even know it. In fact, they were the family that many people needed. They would do anything that they could for anyone. Always there to help, and never asking for anything in return. After I left the restaurant and moved to Charleston for college, the friendship and relationship I had with them did not end.  I truly cannot imagine my life if I did not have such an impact from these two. Paul you were an absolutely incredible person who impacted so many lives. You were absolutely hilarious, hard working, genuine, a great husband, a great father, a great friend, and just an overall incredible person. There is so much love for you and your family. Life is too short. 

I became an aquaintence of Paul via my wife and his vehicles back around 2011. We hit it off pretty quick due to our love of motorsports and anything related to  cars and trucks .  We would talk in passing for 2 years and I had the pleasure of working on his old truck a few times at a past employers business. That's when we really started talking.  And messaging as Paul was specialized in sending memes and fun videos which anyone can attest too.  Around October of 2013 I had recently left a shop that I was lead tech at and started doing work at home. Paul was right there feeding me ideas and day dreaming of a "gas monkey garage " type business. We joked and laughed but kind of shrugged it off. That is until we started buying,selling and trading different vehicles.  Somewhere near the end of 2013 I started at a local shop that quickly became the home of OUR very own business. Keep in mind that while I am a motivated person ,I was also content with working for someone. Paul saw something, like he has in alot of people and he took me and really lit a fire. We were friends, business partners and invested in each other. He for a better word "groomed" me. Showed me what I could do with only the right support. He did this for years, always positive and always dreaming. He loved his family and when it came time to kick his professional life and dreams into gear he offered me a life changing deal and sold me our business for pennies. As always, Paul looked out for me. He looks out for everyone at all times.  This man has touched the lives or more people than I believe he even knew. I will forever be indebted to Paul for his time and trust.  I will strive to live by his example and build on people and encourage others to take command of their career and life.  
It's said that you don't know know what you have until it's gone.... In this case it couldn't be further from the truth... We all knew who Paul was in our lives. We love you Paul, we sincerely miss you

Paul was a true friend to me and my wife, Alice.  I feel fortunate for the time we spent with him and his family, and I wish we had more. Paul was always genuine, kind, and funny. Everyone around Paul loved him and I will always respect how he treated people.  Paul will not be forgotten and we will always be here for Sally and the kids. 

Only had the distinct pleasure of meeting Paul a couple of times. His smile was open and warm, his kindness contagious and I knew that he purely enjoyed connecting with people. He will be greatly missed. To Sally and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you. 

I first met Paul at Ben Lippen in 2000 or 2001, and we would hang out occasionally and play basketball or video games, nothing to crazy, but as we got older and graduated high school we developed a closer friendship.  I remember a handful of times I would just show up at his apartment, we lived in the same complex for a while, and just walk in, sit on the couch and just hang out and talk. We never talked about anything serious, but that's probably what I needed, just someone to talk to about nothing. He was always around and willing to listen. He'd offer advice if he felt it would help, if not he would try and help me out any other way he could. Most times we would go to Golden Dragon with a few of our friends and that always helped. Except once...he tricked me into eating a small red pepper that wasn't meant to be eaten...he got a good laugh out of that...and a few hours later I did too. Paul, you will be missed my friend. I send my prayers, hugs and condolences to Sally and the girls, your father and your husband was one of a kind.

Mr. Wu was a valued member of our Board of Directors and a special friend to our school.  He provided superior leadership and support for East Point Academy.  He was always smiling and always willing to lend a helping hand.  

His positive energy and friendly demeanor will really be missed.

Dear Sally, we’ve never met but my family has been at East Point Academy since 2013 and I’ve been part of the Board of Directors since 2017. When Paul joined our Board last year he fit in immediately. We were so so happy to have him!

Paul was smart, kind, thoughtful, sincere and helpful. He had a precious warmth about him that I truly loved. And, his dedication to his daughters’ school touched my heart. 

Our Board got to spend time with him last Monday evening practicing the dragon dance for CNY - and his beautiful smile and joyous laughter that evening is forever etched in my mind. 

My heart is with you and your baby girls as you pass through this unthinkable heartbreak. May happy memories of the soul connection you two shared remain bright and eternal. ♥️

Paul, I truly regret that we haven't been able to connect more with you since graduating USC. I'll never forget meeting you and the impression I had of you. As you knew, Sally was my best friend at USC. We talked about everything and viewed her as a little sister so when it came to boyfriends, I'd definitely share my opinions like a big brother. When so told me she was dating you and I got to meet you, I thought very highly of you. I knew you would be someone who would hold her in high regard and I was elated when you two had tied the knot. I remember being there at the first baby show and since then the 2 of you have grown your family beyond that! I'm beyond proud of you for being the caring husband and loving father that my friend deserved. Just hearing about your passing is a blow to me and everyone who knew you well. As tomorrow is never promised, I'm filled with sadness and regret as I look at my phone and see your contact knowing that I can't say what I'm saying here. Just know that I'm here for your family and I mean it. Rest well Paul, I miss you and again am very proud of how you've carried yourself through life.

When Paul and Sally asked me and a few others to help them open Ganbei i of course said yes. I never saw Paul in a bad mood that i remember and he always made time to talk with anyone that came in. His “it should be fine” and shoulder shrug still lives in my memory when i think of him. He was one of the most hardworking, yet laid back, mellow, and genuinely nice people i have ever met. He was the best boss i’ve ever had as a server and really enjoyed my job because of him and Sally. Even outside of work he was that same caring, open, and friendly person.  I know he will be sorely missed by family and his many friends. My heart and thoughts go out to Sally and his girls. 

I can't even remember where and how I met Paul but at the time he was only in high school, so he was like a younger brother to a lot of us. We had similar experiences because we are from China and came to U.S. at a young age. He didn't like school very much even though he was really smart. He was into cars and video games too much as I thought. I remember riding in his car with other friends going shopping, going to China town in Chicago, and just hanging out. After he moved back to SC, we stayed in touch for a little bit but then life got busier for all of us. I was so happy to hear that he got married and is a father of three cute little girls. In 2019, I visited SC with my family and he saw my photos on Facebook and messaged me to meet up. He's just that kind of guy and there is never awkwardness with him. You know I never thought that was going to be the last time I saw him and he always talked about visiting Chicago with his family. We were so young and we still had so much time in this world. Knowing him, he enjoyed every minute of his time doing what he loves with whom he loves. He left the world a better place than he has found it. RIP, my friend. 

I first met Paul while living in the dorm at Ben Lippen High School.  He had a warm, outgoing personality and we hit it off.  For the past twenty years, I have had the privilege of calling him my friend.  I will never forget the times I called him up and asked for help. Without hesitation, Paul would drop what he was doing and come on over.  He was just that kind of guy…dependable, caring, a true friend. 

You will be remembered.  You will be missed.

I was hired at ganbei by Paul in 2012. I just had my first kid and jobless and Paul gave me a chance. It wasn't much but it meant more to me than anything! I ended up moving away and he told me if I am ever back and needed a job, give him a call. Sure enough a year later I was back and he treated me like no time has passed. As time went on and I got to know him better, i began to admire him more and more. He is so nonchalant about anything and he could read people like an open book. One conversation I had with him that will never leave me, "Jonjon, you have so much pride. Let it go, you'll be fine." He taught me that it is okay to ask for help, he gave me the ability to trust again and gave me a mantra to live by... no matter the situation to always remember to tell myself "should be fine." I regret not spending more time with you guys... another lesson learned the hard way.

Paul hired me at Ganbei back in 2016. He and Sally have been the best people I've ever worked for. When they owned the restaurant, it felt like the whole staff was family. I always enjoyed our little talks when I went to pick up my food from Freshe Poke too. The world lost such a great man.

The first time I met Paul was in Ganbei during the heightened peak of the classic “Pokémon Go” period where I was having some sushi with my cousin and Paul came to our table and joined in our conversation while taking out his phone and talking about the Pokémon he had as well.  It was almost like he was part of the family and from then on we became good friends, sharing interests in gaming, cars, and other similar interests.  For some reason I would always randomly bump into him at Cosco and I’d hear his low pitched voice “Hey what’s up!!” Haha!    Then I went on to almost seeing Paul every day during my work lunch when he opened the Forest Drive Freshe Poke location.  Even coming out from behind the counter and sitting at a table with me where we talked about projects on my car, games and crypto.  Paul was definitely a genuine guy,  and I will definitely miss him along with his awesome personality.  Especially his constant appearances on Discord late nights when gaming.  He was a character and truly a remarkable friend.

Paul and I have been friends since 2007-2008 when i started college. He was always there to help with anything and keeping me out of trouble since then. He was few years older than me so I’ve always looked up to him as an older brother and every time I run into trouble or something I can’t figure out, I would call him to ask for his opinion. One of the many  great things with Paul was he never say “I don’t know”. He would go out of his way to find a solution to help you or at least direct you to someone that could help you. We’ll talk again soon brother! 

We have been friends for over 13 years, He was huge car  guy, best friends , awesome father. Every time we can spend hours talking about cars, business, family, etc... still can not believe that. 
Bro, I know you are not gone still around us just went to different places to do what you need to do ! 
You will be Missed !

The times spent with Sally and Paul have always been filled with smiles and laughter. Their love for one another and their beautiful girls, you felt it immediately in their presence.  Paul was such a kind man. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know him. This picture was taken of us just last year getting ice cream after having dinner in Charlotte.  A precious memory I will always cherish. 

I've met Paul at Tsubaki as well as many other friends I hold dearly. Everyone knew him as a kind and approachable man, and I strongly agree. I'm so proud of the many successes in his short-lived time as an individual, a husband, and a father. May he find peace and love in the next life just as much as he was loved here. He will be missed. 

Paul was the kindest, most easygoing person I’ve ever met in the restaurant business. We worked together years and years ago at Tsunami. We had a lot of fun and I learned a lot from Paul about management, forgiveness, and need to not sweat the small things. 

The world lost a great guy. 

My thoughts go out to Sally and his beautiful daughters, as well as all his friends. 

Paul was such a unique man, never will I forget him.  In the years I knew him he taught me things and insights I would have never learned from anyone else. Pushed me and believed in me time and time again and I'm glad I was impacted by such a special guy. 

He will be missed. 

I remember meeting Paul in Columbia S.C at a local car meet and hitting it off. Establishing a friendship with you (Paul), was one of life’s greatest gifts. Between the phone conversations, cars meets, and the occasional visitation to me in Charlotte. Your memory will continue to live on.

Paul will always hold a special place in my heart.  He was a dear friend to our family... one of my husband's best friends.  He was someone who you could always count on, without question.  He never met a stranger. His personality would light up a room, in a way where everyone was drawn to him.  His patience and  positivity made him the most amazing husband and father to Sally and his girls.  It pains my heart to know that he is no longer here with us, but one day we will see you again...

I first met Jiashun at the airport in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.  He had come as a foriegn exchange student.  We hosted him and one other student from China that year. We had the honor of having him in our home for one year.  It was a year full of fun and learning for us all. We were very grateful for the opportunity of knowing him.  We stayed in touch with this amazing boy-man. We were excited to see him in his home in South Carolina last spring and meet his beautiful wife and daughters.  I loved my Chinese son and will miss him greatly.
