Joyce Ann Appleman

COLUMBIA A funeral service for Joyce Ann McGee Appleman, 88, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 19, 2023 at Bethel United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at a later date in East Springfield UMC Cemetery in LaGrange, Indiana. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Appleman died Sunday, May 14, 2023. Born in Henderson, KY, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Margaret McGee. She graduated from Owensboro High School in Kentucky and Indiana University with a BS in Early Childhood Education and a Minor in English. She was an active member of Bethel UMC where she served in the choir and was a past President of United Methodist Women. She retired from the Richland County Library.

Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Eugene Goodsell Appleman; daughter, Brenda Marie McCarthy (Mike); grandchildren, Kaelyn Joyce McCarthy (Dillon Hartle), Michael McCarthy Jr., Joshua Goodsell Appleman (Ashlee); great-grandchild, Elias-Alexander Goodsell Appleman; brother, Lloyd McGee. She was predeceased by a son, Bruce Goodsell Appleman and sister, Ruth McGee.
