Kay Martin Germany

COLUMBIA – Kay Martin Germany, 81, passed away on July 8, 2025. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 noon Wednesday, July 16, 2025 in Fort Jackson National Cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.

Mrs. Germany was born on September 24, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Frances Bedenbaugh Zimmerman and Allen David Martin, Sr. and stepmother, Edna Wallace Martin. She was also like a daughter to her late aunt and uncle Jack “Sam” and Dorothy Martin Knox. A graduate of Olympia High School, Class of 1962, she worked for the South Carolina Tax Commission for 32 years. Kay dearly loved her family, friends and the Olympia community. She was proud to be called a “Lent Head.” She also loved her puppies, Bentley and Camden.

Surviving are her sister, Jan Martin Sheely (Jimmy); brother, Allen “David” Martin, Jr. (Kim); and niece, Hayleigh Martin. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her loving husband of 56 years, Ed Elliott Germany, Jr. and her nephew, James J. Germany, Jr.
