Mrs. Mabel P Hicks

COLUMBIA - Mabel Parham Hicks passed away on October 14, 2015, at the age of 95. She was born on February 14, 1920 in Henderson, N.C. After moving to Columbia, she was a long-time member of Shandon United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. Mabel retired from the S.C. Department of Mental Health after many years of service. She was a caring and loving person who loved children and pets, and had strong faith in God. Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Hicks, Jr. and her grandson, James "Bryan" Cameron. She is survived by her children, Rebecca Cameron, Jacqueline and Donald James, Judith and Dana Dunkelberger; grandchildren Scott Cameron, Jay James, Judith and Kevin Condon and Amy Oswalt; and great-grandchildren, Taylor and Eli James, Sydney Pennington, and Brody Condon. A family graveside memorial service was held at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Friday, October 16, 2015.
