Mrs. Martin, widow of Mr. Johnnie H. Martin, Jr. passed away on Wednesday, June 19, 2019. Born in Augusta, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Samuel W. Welch and Jennie Meehan Welch.
Mary attended Columbia International University and was a member of First Baptist Church, where she served as an adult Sunday School teacher, sang in the senior adult choir and went on mission trips. She was also a historian of the 1711 Chapter of United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Surviving are her daughters, Ellen M. Wright (Michael), Mary M. Allen (John) and Jennie M. Mahoney; grandchildren, J. Scott Allen and Meredith M. Kelley (Daniel); and great-granddaughter, Lilly Kelley.
