Melvin Deleon Miles

Mr. Miles passed away on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. Born in Florence, SC, he was the son of the late Archie Miles and Agnes Cox Miles. A graduate of Prairie View A&M University of Texas, he held the rank of Sergeant and served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. Melvin served as an air traffic controller with the Federal Aviation Administration until his retirement. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working at Lowe's assisting customers with their home improvement projects. Most of all, he loved and cherished his family.

Surviving are his daughter, Ashley N. Davies (Todd) of Geneva, IL; sister, Dena Light of West Columbia, SC; four grandchildren, Abigail Smith (Tyler), Hannah Dobrose (David), Sarah Davies, and Zachary Davies; great-grandchildren, Sadie Smith and Gracelyn Dobrose; nephews, James Dennis, Eddie Dennis, Jonathan Dennis, and all their families.

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the 3rd Floor ICU at Lexington Medical Center, especially Dr. Choe and his nurse, Madison.
