Mr. Michael Augustine Poole

COLUMBIA - A Funeral Mass for Michael Augustine Poole, 59, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 2, 2017 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, on Assembly Street, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. All are welcome to attend the “Tailgate” Reception at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, following the interment. The family invites guests to wear Gamecock colors (or the colors of your school of choice). Michael passed away Friday, September 29, 2017. Born on November 6, 1957 in Washington D.C., he was a son of the late Charles Patton Poole, Jr. and Kathleen Theresa Walsh Poole. Michael dutifully served with the Richland County Sheriff’s Department for many years. Surviving are his wife, Suzan Cox Poole; daughter, Kimberly Anne Duncan of Irmo; brother, Charles Patton Poole III (Karen) of Toccoa, Ga.; sisters, Kathleen Theresa Poole of Mystic, CT, Mary Ellen Jackson (Thomas) of Aiken, and Elizabeth Irene Loeffer (Andrew) of Anchorage, Alaska; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210; or Richland County Sheriffs Foundation, P.O. Box 1182, Columbia, SC 29206.
