Patricia Lynne Chavis Foster

Mrs. Foster passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026. Born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, she was the oldest of 13 children, and a daughter of the late Ray Edward Chavis and Laura Hagemann Chavis. She was a graduate of Midlands Technical College, where she received her Nursing degree. Patricia worked as a registered nurse at the Tucker Center with South Carolina Department of Mental Health until she retired. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her dogs and cats.

Surviving are her daughters, Stacey Lynn Hensley (Michael) and Kristina “Tina” Marie Foster; and grandchildren, Raymond Waters, and Amelia Nicole Waters; siblings, James Allen Chavis (Linda), William Ray Chavis (Ruth), David Edward Chavis, Thomas Joseph Chavis (Susan), Richard Eric Chavis, Stephen Carl Chavis (Jennie), Anne Marie Roenick (J.R.), and Lisa Kay Posthumus (Dave); and best friend, Jonsie Garcia.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Raymond S. Foster; and siblings, Janet Mae Riley, Beverly Ann, Susan Marie Aldridge, and Paul Gerrard Chavis.
