Princa was born on February 26, 1931, the only child of Jabez Ferris McManus of Taxahaw, South Carolina, and Ruby Mozelle Hollifield McManus, born in Forest City, North Carolina. She graduated from Dreher High School in the Class of 1949 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina in 1952.
Throughout her dedicated career with the City of Columbia, Princa served in many roles, including the Public Works Department, the Legal Department, and ultimately the Community Development Department, where she worked faithfully as a loan processor.
Princa was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 25 years, Harry Causby Wright, who passed on June 18, 1986.
She is survived by her devoted daughter Ferrisa Holli Wright Crocker; son-in-law Michael Crocker; grandchildren Alex Crocker (Marisa) and Carley Crocker; and step-grandson Jacob Miller—all of whom brought immense joy, pride, and purpose to her life.
A lifelong member of First Baptist Church of Columbia, Princa served her church wholeheartedly. She participated on numerous committees and held several officer positions in the Sanctuary Choir, where her faith, music, and service beautifully intertwined. She was also active in the Junior Women’s Club of Columbia and the Palmetto Women’s Club, both part of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs of South Carolina. In her later years, she enjoyed fellowship and fun with the Red Hat Society.
Princa leaves behind a tremendous legacy of love, dedication, faith, and joy. She adored her family and her church with all her heart. Two of her greatest yearly traditions were participating in the Columbia Christmas Pageant and the Carolina Celebration of Liberty at First Baptist Church—events she cherished deeply. Although she never served in the military, she loved her country immensely.
A passionate University of South Carolina Gamecocks fan, Princa famously missed only one home football game in 72 years. Her enthusiasm for her team was unmatched and known by all who loved her.
She also treasured antiques, traveling, and the companionship of her cherished kitty cats and puppy dogs.
