Richard Henry "Rich" Morath

Born in Hackensack, New Jersey, Rich was the son of the late Henry Charles Morath and the late Hilda Monica Morath. He earned a degree in engineering from Lehigh University and an MBA from Kennisaw State University and was employed by Tower Consultants, Inc., in Irmo. Rich was an avid sailor and enjoyed sailing on Lake Murray and in Hilton Head for many years. He was also a cycling and Harley-Davidson enthusiast and a Master SCUBA diver.

Rich was loved and survived by his wife, Judi Wallis Morath; daughters, Molly Phillips (Rick Phillips) and Sarah Palmer (Joel Palmer); three step-children, Sarah Porter (Jonathan Grund), Allen Porter (Jeanne Hsieh ), and Ben Porter (Mary Dozier); two sisters, Kathy Morath and Chris Morath; seven grandchildren; his most beloved Schnoodle, Charlie; a large extended family; and dear friends and co-workers.

Visitation with family members will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts made to The American Red Cross or Coral Restoration Foundation Bonaire.
