
Born in Illinois, he was the son of the late Edward Bart and Anastasia Pezanowski Bart. A 1972 graduate of Lower Richland High School, he received his undergraduate and Masters degree in Geography from the University of South Carolina. He served for four years in the US Coast Guard. Roland worked as a transportation planner with the State of South Carolina. He was raised Catholic and attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. He enjoyed reading, loved dogs, and was an avid University of South Carolina fan.
Surviving are his sisters, Denise Miranda of Lexington, SC, Judy Partin of Georgia, Virginia Bart of Georgia, and Kateri Skelton of Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Vera Bart.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2024 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Lexington, SC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
