COLUMBIA Funeral service for Stephanie Irene Oxley, 62, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2015, at the funeral home. Born in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of Frances Horton Oxley and the late Robert S. Oxley. Ms. Oxley was a graduate of A.C. Flora High School and the University of South Carolina and attended Brevard Junior College. She worked for Estee Lauder as a consultant and had been a diligent field agent with the U.S. Census Bureau for many years. A woman of faith, she was a member of Trenholm Road United Methodist Church and former member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. She enjoyed shopping, good food and taking care of her home. She was an animal lover, especially her cat, Edwina. A loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend, she is survived by her mother, Frances H. Oxley of Columbia; sisters, Gloria F. Oxley of Columbia and Gale O. Harper (Warren) of Ashburn, Va.; three nieces and numerous extended family members. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
