Mr. Noland passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9, 2024. Born in Union, SC, he was the son of the late Thomas D. Noland and Charlie Mae Garner Noland. He served in the US Army during WWII and received the Victory Medal. Tommy worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad and retired after many years of service. He was a member of Shandon Baptist Church and was a Shriner for 50 years.
Tommy was his own man; fun loving, athletic and always willing to help others. He ran and biked late into life, still going to the gym within the last year. He was a generous man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Known to deliver tomatoes far and wide, Tommy was also affectionately known as the “Tomato Man.” He had a strong sense of family and a handshake to remember.
Surviving are his nephew, J. Edward Joye, Jr. (Liz) and his nieces, Alice N. Joye and Ansley J. Mitcham (Todd).
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Zella Marlow and his sister, Jerry Joye.
