EASTOVER – Graveside service for William Jonathan “Jan” Gibbons, 62, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to the service at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.
Mr. Gibbons died Saturday, December 22, 2018. Born in Clarendon County, he was the son of the late Durward Gleaton Gibbons and Ann Morris Gibbons Cauthen. He was a graduate of Lower Richland High School, Class of 1974 and Charleston Southern University. He was a retired courier for UPS and attended Compass Church. Jan enjoyed gardening, cooking and playing golf and was an avid sportsman. He loved his Clemson Tigers and his dog, “M.J.”
Surviving are his son, Jonathan Gibbons of West Columbia; sister, Leann Crowe (Randy) of Lexington; nephew, David Beale; niece, Charlotte Ann Crowe “Charlie” Pitts (Danny); and nephew, Randall Joshua Crowe. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Stancil G. “Stan” Gibbons.
