Anita Beth Finnell, of Epsom, NH (previously of Bow, NH), passed away on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026. She returned Home to Heaven comfortably, guided by her strong faith, and with loved ones at her side. Anita was born in New Bedford, MA, on August 21st, 1957. She is the daughter of Kathleen Baker and William Baker, and the sister of Curtis Johnson, James Johnson, and Steven Baker.
Anita was pre-deceased by the love of her life, Michael Finnell Sr. She is survived by her daughter, Alison Lombard; her son, Michael Finnell Jr., and his wife, Reshma; her son-in-law, Carl Lombard; and her grandchildren, Brandon Lombard and his wife, Rebecca; Cameron Lombard; and Zachary Finnell. She is also survived by great-grandchildren Faye and Finley Lombard. She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews, a companion to Oscar Clark, a friend to countless people who loved her energy, humor, and care for others, and a loving sister to all of God’s children.
Anita enjoyed camping with family and friends, riding motorcycles with her husband, Mike, and sharing her jovial and “goofy” side with friends both old and new. She relished her time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, somehow always making time to play with cars and dolls and to dance with the kids. Anita loved watching the birds outside her home in Epsom, NH, finding peace in the frequent visits from cardinals, which she saw as a sign from God that Mike Sr. was ok in Heaven. Anita handled loss with grace and hope, even to the end, as she fought hard against her cancer and lung disease.
A Catholic Mass will be held for Anita at Saint Joseph’s Church (844 First NH Turnpike, Northwood, NH 02361) at 10:00 AM on May 2nd. Following the Mass, a reception will be held in the parish center at the church.
