
Barbara J. Tucker passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at Concord Hospital. She was born May 30, 1934 in Pittsfield NH. Barbara was the daughter of Alvin R. Davis and Lillian A.(Mason) Davis. She graduated from Concord High School, class of 1953 and lived most of her life in Concord.
Barbara married Henry A. Tucker on April 8, 1953. Together Barbara and Henry spent the next 20 years raising six children while Henry was assigned to various locations while serving in the US Army. After Henry’s retirement from the Army in 1993, the family returned to Concord.
Barbara was an active member of the Woman’s Auxiliary of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Concord Chapter serving many positions, eventually serving as State Commander. She was also active with the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and enjoyed camping with her friends from the Good Sam’s Club. Barbara was best known for her love of family and by friends and family for her crafting skills. She was skilled in knitting, crocheting, sewing and beadwork.
Barbara was predeceased by her parents, her sister Shirley Parker and her loving husband, Henry A. Tucker.
Survivors include a son Jeffrey A. and his wife Vera C. Tucker of Loudon NH; daughter Valerie J. and her husband Louis (Pat) Sweeney of Concord NH; son Brian D. and his wife Debra L. Tucker of Salisbury NH; daughter Sherri R. and her husband Bruce R. Bouvier of Concord NH; son Brent A. Tucker of Phoenix, Arizona; son Henry A. and his wife Kendra L. Tucker, Jr. of Penacook NH and a brother, Alvin R. and his wife Nona G. Davis II of Concord NH. Barbara also leaves 12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a niece and a nephew along with grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday, January 26 from 2 – 4 pm at Bennett’s Funeral Home. Internment will take place at a later date.
