Well... she finally went and did it -- just as she said she would one day. Betty always knew where her light was which leaves us now looking for our own. I knew her as a cross between the "white tornado" and the "velvet steamroller". To be in her presence you knew you'd been hit by something but by then it was too late and you were part of her gang. I'll miss her in my life but she is forever a part of my heart. My condolences to her beautiful family and everyone in the theatre whose life she tapped across. We know now that we were just her supporting cast. Dance on Betty. We'll catch up to you later.

Our condolences to Betty’s family. Betty was truly an inspiration to our family! We all have a void in our hearts. But I am sure she is rehearsing in heaven for her next performance! You are much loved Betty and will surely be missed.

From the Charmingfare Players in Candia to the New Thalian Players at Notre Dame College- both of which she outlasted- and everything in between, Betty was a theatrical force to reckon with.

Her energy, her humor, her presence on and off the stage, and her stories are the stuff of legend. Her bright light can never be dimmed.

Rest easy now, Betty. You were the best of the broads. A real great dame. We remain, as ever, the richer for your presence.

I was fortunate to have Betty as a shining light during my years at Henry Moore. When I think of her, the words vibrant and pizazz come to mind. She brightened every day! May her family find comfort in knowing she left her mark in her community and beyond.

Rest In Peace, Betty— you earned it!

My condolences to Bettys family and friends.

When I was hired as the Principal of the Henry Moore School I had little understanding of the challenges I faced in this my first principalship!
Throughout my time in Candia, Betty helped me to understand her community and to do the best job I was able to do on behalf of the students, families and staff.
Anyone who met Betty was left with a lasting impression. She always said what was on her mind and consistently kept the interests of’s children first. She had a wonderful sense of humor and left many of us with lasting memories of the special person she was.
Rest In Peace Betty. You will be missed.

What a truly wonderful person Mrs. Thompson was. Loved seeing per performances at the Chateaux dinner and theater. Her bag lady skit when she’s eating French fries was amazing. By the time she was done you could smell the fries. Betty you will be missed by many.
