

James is survived by his mother, Janet (Leafe) MacDougall of Goffstown; wife, Lisa MacDougall of Portsmouth NH; children, Jennifer MacDougall and Kelley MacDougall of FL, William and Scott MacDougall of Concord and Manchester, four grandchildren, Andrew, Logan, Kaya and Madison, siblings Betty (MacDougall) Perkins, of Dunbarton, Carol (MacDougall) Morrison of, York ME, and CWO4 William MacDougall of Quantico VA; He is preceded in death by his father John MacDougall of Goffstown, NH, and first wife, Barbara (Layton) Cheyney of DE.
James was born on February 21st, 1957 in Manchester, NH to John and Janet MacDougall. He graduated from Goffstown High School in 1975 and then served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1975 to 1980. James graduated from the Diesel Institute of America in Landover, MD in 1978. Following his service in the Marine Corps, James pursued a career in the construction industry and was the Northeast Regional Sales Manager, for Marooka USA East, located in Ashland, VA. He married Barbara (Layton) Cheyney in 1978, and had two daughters Jennifer and Kelley. He married his current wife, Lisa (Nadeau) MacDougall in 1986, and during their 30 year marriage had two sons, William and Scott. He was much loved and will be greatly missed.
Calling hours will be held at Bennet Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord NH on September 22nd, Thursday evening from 4 to 7pm. The funeral is Friday morning at 10:00am at Christ the King Parish, St. John the Evangelist at 72 South Main Street, Concord, followed by a graveside service at NH State Veteran’s Cemetery in Boscawen at noon. Following services, all are welcome to attend a luncheon at the Red Blazer Restaurant, 72 Manchester St, Concord to celebrate James’s life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Rockingham VNA and Hospice, Exeter at 603-772-2981.
