Jane Alma Arata

Jane Alma Arata (Stewart), 76, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 23, 2022 following a courageous battle with cancer and dementia. Jane was born in Concord NH, on October 22, 1945, and was adopted by Ted and Helen Stewart. She was a proud graduate of Concord High School, Class of ‘63. Jane also received a business certificate from Franklin Pierce College.

While balancing her family and work lives, Jane was accomplished at a variety of roles, such as a bookkeeper, accounting clerk, and receptionist. She lent her administrative talents to such organizations as Concord Gas, United Life, March of Dimes, Orr and Reno, and a few dental offices. Jane also taught piano to children for several years. She enjoyed great fulfillment in dedicating herself to her many roles.

Jane was never more content than when spending time with family, whether it be during the holidays, where Christmas meant a stocking for everyone regardless of age, or enjoying time at the family camp in Trenton, Maine, where she would enjoy swimming in the ocean. She never met a body of water too cold to swim. She found joy in playing the piano and painting. Anyone who had ever met Jane, would come to know her warm heart, kindness, and love of family and friends.

Jane will be dearly missed by her loving husband of 57 years, Bob; her children Amy Goumillout, Darryl Arata, Sherri Fisk (Jon), and Sarah Smith; her grandchildren Aleka Goumillout, Chelsi Miller (Jon), Drew Goumillout, Kealey Smith, and great-granddaughter, Mila Goumillout.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 22 at 2pm at St. Paul’s Church, 21 Centre St, Concord NH, followed by a reception. Calling hours are Monday, May 23, 11am-1pm at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N Main St, Concord NH, followed by a procession to the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen NH.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to charity of your choice.
