

Born on April 19, 1924 in Marcellus, NY she was the daughter of Clinton and Edna (Case) Woodford.
Jean taught Science in Holliston, MA for 25 years until retiring to Gilmanton, NH where she and her husband (Bill) ran a vineyard as a
retirement project. She enjoyed traveling across the United States and around the world. Her hobbies included camping, hiking in the
mountains, and working in the yard. She was an accomplished seamstress and loved doing cross-stitch and embroidery.
She worshipped at St. James Episcopal Church in Laconia.
She and Bill married in Marcellus, NY on August 9 1947.
She was former president of the Gilmanton Women's Club for many years.
She was predeceased by her sister Kareta Flanagan of Marietta, NY.
Jean is survived by her husband of 67 years, William Frederick Baxter,
two sons - Bill Baxter III of Holliston, MA and James Baxter of
Gilmanton, NH and her daughter, Carol Paltrineri also of Holliston,
MA. She leaves behind one brother, Clinton Woodford of Skaneateles, NY and one sister, Carolyn Rice of Marcellus, NY as well.
Calling hours will be held from 6pm-8pm on Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 N. Main Street, Concord, where a celebration of Jean’s life will be held on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at 1pm. Interment will follow at Blossom Hill Cemetery.
