Born September 9,1919 and died March 7,2016 at home in Nashua NH surrounded by her two children Jim and Kathleen.
She was born in Nespelem, WA on the Colville Indian Reservation, the daughter of Joseph and Lotti Belle Arcasa. Raised and schooled on the reservation Margaret furthered her education concentrating on secretarial skills. She was able to get a good steady job with the Indian Bureau's lumber division and from there landed jobs at lumber yards in Aberdeen WA and Portland OR. It was in Porland where she met a handsome FBI agent, Timothy M. Casey, who would soon be her husband. They were married in Anchorage Alaska and a short time later transfered to Juneau where Kathleen joined the family. Moving would become Margaret's number one past time as homemaker and Mom. Next stop Seattle, WA where Jim would make his debut. A five year stint in Seattle gave the family time to catch their breath before the whirlwind journey continued. Three years in Buffalo followed by three very difficult years in Memphis. Tim was assigned to the Civil Rights Squad and those that lived through the sixties can imagine the difficult assignments. He rarely was home so Margaret carried the extra buden of the young family;never complaining and always providing a home welcoming any and all friends. The last leg of the FBI journey took the family to Boston for two years and finally to Tim's home in Concord NH.
Margaret lived for her family and was known for always being busy in the kitchen preparing beautiful meals and the best chocolate chip cookies around. Every friend and aquaintance was always invited to the dinner table ande Margaret tried her best to make you feel like family. Summers were always spent in Salisbury NH with her social group "The Dirty Dozen" and her "Knitting Group"
(although they never seemed to do any knitting). The highlight of summer was Margaret putting on a bathing suit 4th of July and heading to the swimming hole for her annual dip in the Blackwater River. You never knew if the crowd gathered because of the holiday or to see if Margaret was really going to go in the water.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Tim in 2003 and her sister Irene in 2002. She is survived by her two children Kathleen of Nashua,NH; who has been her primary caregiver since 1992, son Jim and his fiance' Chris Parsons Mank of York, ME. and her loving grandson Benjamin of Manchester NH. She is also survived by a half brother Merl Hamilton of Idaho; who reconnected with Margaret a little later in life to her joy!
