P. Gail Deane

Gail was an accomplished athlete from her time growing up in Sackville, New Brunswick, Canada, while attending Wayland High School, and through her college years at Gordon College and The University of Connecticut. Gail was a revered elementary school educator and served the Concord School District for over 30 years. In her retirement, Gail enjoyed working in the Concord School of Continuing Education, assisting older adults accomplish their academic goals. Beyond her academic and professional path, Gail enjoyed sailing, skiing, hiking, dancing, traveling, her friendships, her church and community and spending time with her family.

Gail is survived by her brother, Charles Hennigar and his wife Adeline Hennigar of Marblehead, MA, her sister, Virginia Chapman of Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, her son, Matthew Deane of Raymond, NH, and his partner Tara McNabb and her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa McNabb and Sean McNabb, and her grandkids Cadence and Owen McNabb all of Woburn, MA. Gail was predeceased by her mother, Katherine Cressey (Hennigar) and father, Joseph Hennigar.

The family would like to acknowledge the extraordinary support, kindness, and care provided by Gail’s family, friends, and neighbors these last few years.

Calling hours will be held from 5 to 8pm on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the First Congregational Church, 1548 Hopkinton Road, Hopkinton, NH. Interment will be held in the spring.
