Pauline Swenson

Pauline (Polly) Swenson, 91, loving wife of the late Robert L. Swenson, Photographer, died early Thursday morning, February 22, 2018, with her entire family around her following a short stay at Pleasant View Center.

She was born September 25, 1926, daughter of John J. and Margaret (Norton) Healy. She grew up on the grounds of St Paul’s School which she loved dearly up to the very end. Her fondest memories are of her home at St. Paul’s School which she shared with her Mom and 9 siblings. Her Dad died when she was very young. She was blessed to be born a Healy.

Polly is a twin.

She graduated from Concord High School and Mount Saint Mary’s Nursing School with her twin, Patricia (Patsy) Prescott. As a nurse, Polly worked with Concord physicians and later Pleasant View Retirement Center and the Centennial Home.

Polly loved to knit. While residing at Granite Ledges’ Homestead since September of 2012 her favorite past time was sitting in her room knitting.

She loved her family dearly. She will be sadly missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her twin Patsy, her sister Sally and their families.

She is survived by her daughter Susan Swenson Gulezian and her husband Richard, her son Eric Robert Swenson and his wife Nancy, her son John Herman Swenson and his wife, Mary. Her sisters Patricia Prescott and Sally Keniston. Her grandchildren Lindsey Heath and her husband, Kris, Courtney Swenson, Thomas Swenson and his partner George Shack, and Maria Swenson. Her great grandsons, Robert, Chatham and William Heath.

Polly was predeceased by her husband, Robert Swenson, who died in 2004. Two brothers, John “Tarzan” Healy and George Healy. Five sisters, Mary Harley, Margaret Champney, Eileen Herman, Alice St. Cyr, and Nancy Norton.

Her wake will be held at the Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord, NH, on Wednesday, February 28, 2018, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. A funeral mass will be held at Christ the King Parish, 72 South Main Street, Concord, NH on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Concord.
