

She was born on March 14, 1920 in Danville, VA to the late Charles Lemuel Johnson and Willadine Robertson Johnson of Danville, VA. Elaine was a member of Moffett Memorial Baptist Church in Danville, VA. She was also a member of the Joseph Gravely Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a member of the Anne Eliza Johns Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Elaine was married to Thomas Wells Scott who preceded her on July 21, 2001.
Her remains will be buried next to her husband in the Highland Burial Park in Danville, Va.
She is survived by two sons, Douglas Wells Scott and wife, Karen Fletcher Scott of Conover, NC, and Mark Robertson Scott and wife, Melanie Wadosky Scott of Roanoke, VA; and a sister, Doris Johnson Thornton of Chester, VA.
She also leaves four grandchildren, Kevin Blake Scott of Newton, NC, Kelly Scott Mozgala of Hickory, NC, Avery Michelle Scott of Roanoke, VA, and Samuel Forrester Scott of Roanoke, VA, and three great-grandchildren, Cole Alexander Dillard, Sophia Jane Mozgala and Mia Natalie Mozgala.
