

Anne was born September 22, 1931 in Granite Falls, NC (Caldwell County), and was the youngest daughter of the late Garland Cecil Coffey and Nelia Mae Keller Coffey.
In addition to her parents, Anne was preceded in death by her only sibling, a sister, Carita Sue Coffey Craig, and her beloved husband of 61 ½ years, the Rev. Dr. Hoyle Lee Whiteside Sr.
Anne leaves as her legacy, a daughter, Susan Rebekah Whiteside Martin and husband, Joe, of Burnsville, NC; a son, H. Lee Whiteside Jr. and wife, Iris, of Wilmington, NC. One grandchild, Dr. H. L. Whiteside III (Trey), of Nashville, TN.
Throughout the years, Anne was mother, church secretary, teacher, and homemaker. She was happiest and most content when working devotedly alongside her husband at the five churches where he served as Pastor; Bethlehem, Hickory; Lutheran Chapel, Gastonia; Our Redeemer, Montgomery, AL; Macedonia, Burlington and St. John’s, Statesville. She loved working and helping the church members and the women’s organizations; but especially loved working with the youth groups and teaching in the schools at church.
In the NC Synod, she served on the Lenoir-Rhyne College Board of Trustees (1981-1990), the State Board for Women of The Church (1964-1988), The NC Synod Parish Life Ministries Development team, and as a Youth Council Advisor in Statesville.
A Private Family Inurnment Service will be held.
